Q2: Do I need a consultation before receiving treatment? Yes, we highly recommend scheduling a complimentary consultation before any aesthetic treatment. During the consultation, we will assess your specific concerns, discuss your goals, and recommend the most suitable treatment plan for you.

Q1: What are neurotoxins? Neurotoxins are cosmetic injectable medications that contains Botulinum Toxin. It is used to temporarily relax the muscles responsible for causing wrinkles and fine lines, resulting in a smoother and more youthful appearance.

Q2: What areas can be treated with neurotoxins? Neurotoxins are commonly used to address wrinkles and lines in areas such as the forehead, between the eyebrows (glabellar lines), and around the eyes (crow's feet). It can also be used for other purposes, such as treating excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) and migraines.

Q3: How long do neurotoxin treatments last? The effects of neurotoxins typically last between three to four months. However, the duration can vary among individuals. Follow-up treatments are usually recommended to maintain the desired results.

Pre-Treatment Instructions

• This treatment is not recommended if you have an important event within 2 weeks of injection due to potential for bruising and undesirable outcomes. 

• Avoid herbal supplements such as Ginko, green tea and anti-inflammatories of any kind for 2 weeks before and following treatment to limit bruising.

• If you are on anticoagulation and have a history of bruising, please notify your provider prior to your treatment. 

Avoid blood-thinning medications

• Stop taking aspirin, ibuprofen, and any other blood-thinning medications at least one week before your scheduled treatment. These medications can increase the risk of bruising at the injection site.

Stay hydrated:

• Ensure you are well-hydrated in the days leading up to your appointment. Drinking plenty of water can help improve the pliability of your skin and make the injections more comfortable.

Avoid alcohol:

• Refrain from consuming alcohol for at least 24 hours before your treatment. Alcohol can increase the risk of bruising and may interfere with the effectiveness of the treatment.

Post Treatment Instructions

• For the first 4 hours following the injection of neurotoxin, remain upright. 

• Do not participate in activities that include heavy lifting, vigorous exercise or straining for 24 hours. 

• Do not rub, touch, or manipulate the treated areas Botox for 6 hours. 

• Avoid irritating products for 24 hours following injections. Make-up may be applied gently before leaving the office, remember to wipe up and away from your eyes or brows.

• Bruising in the area injected is normal and often expected, especially if treated around the eyes. Bruising can last up to several weeks. Using/taking Arnica may help diminish bruising.

• It may take up to 14 days for the treatment to take full effect. 

• A follow-up visit in 2 weeks is suggested to assess results for subsequent treatments, particularly if you are a first-time client. If full correction is not achieved, you may need to purchase additional neurotoxin for injection.

• Re-treatment is typically needed between 2-6 months. Regular injections usually yield a longer lasting result. 

• If your upper lip was treated you may not be able to drink through a straw, whistle, or enunciate some words for approximately 2 weeks. 

• Although rare, infection in the injected area is possible. Signs of infection may include redness and tenderness in the infected area and fever. Should you develop an infection, antibiotics may be necessary. Please contact us should you have any concerns.
